Topics, the application, has reached Alpha status. I would like to take this opportunity to provide a birds-eye overview of the application: Topics is a topic map-based information repository and knowledge management tool. It’s a desktop application built with Adobe AIR for personal use. Furthermore, it uses Adobe AIR’s embedded database, SQLite for its data storage (that is, it does not depend on an Internet connection to work).

A tentative road map for the development of the application is as follows:

• March 01, 2009: Alpha release
• May 01, 2009: Beta release
• June 01, 2009: Release Candidate 1
• July 01, 2009: Release Candidate 2
• July 15, 2009: Final release of version 1.0
